My choice

This poem is inspired by Deepika Padukone's video "My Choice"  directed by Homie Adajania. This poem represents voice of all the women in the world to the narrow minded people in our society..

My body, my mind, my choice,
My choice is to wear the clothes I like,
Even when your stare makes me uncomfortable in my own skin,
Making me feel like any moment trouble can knock in,
And other people will leave it unseen,
But I'll stare you back,
Like you're shit's stack,
Instead of changing my choice,
I'll fight back for what I like,
And This is my choice. .

My choice is to give words to my thoughts,
Your threats makes me doubt my own voice
But you wont succeed,
If you'll try to supress it,
I'll speak louder,
Your threats doesn't scares me anymore,
I'll scream till my throat gets sore,
I'll get it heard anyway,
I wont stay dumb anymore,
I'll fight back for what is right,
And This is my choice. .

My choice is to be free,
I'm a woman, a human,
Not a bird,
Your caged mind is making me forget that I've wings,
I know I can provide it to my dreams,
Dont try to cage me,
Let your caged mind free,
And then I'll show you Real beauty you couldn't see,
My freedom lets me reach to the moon,
To the height no one can reach,
I make my own lines that without my permission you shouldn't breach,
I'll fight back for my freedom,
And this is my choice..

My choice is to be loyal to a person I love,
You cant doubt it,
The question marks in your head will only show who you're,
If you say I cant be trusted,
Then you're the one who cant be,
All you want to do is blame,
So I'll rise through all these flames,
I dont need to prove it to you,
The one who needs to know already knows,
I'll laugh at your question marks,
And this is my choice..

My choice is to marry the person I like,
You cant say no,
Shut your face if You're going to talk about this and that,
Coz if I get burned in the place I married of your choice,
You'll keep your flapping tongue shut anyway,
So I shouldn't care about what you say,
I know my decisions,
My love, my life,
You cant judge someone with house they have,
And caste they carry,
You cant weigh someone's heart,
And love of the man I'm going to marry,
I'll fight for my love
And this is my choice..

My choice is to walk in the streets at 12am,
When my grandmother needs medicine,
Think hundred times before calling me a whore,
I'm not in the streets to soar,
And even if I'm,
Then it shouldn't be your concern,
Coz if I get harassed or abused in the middle of the street,
And When my scream will disturb your dream,
You'll blame me anyway,
For being out at the night,
Instead of helping you'll get back to sleep,
I'll be able to fight and knock the lights out of attackers,
And this is my choice..

My choice is to have a baby girl,
I don't need your permission,
It's not you who'll decide,
Son or daughter,
Both are equal for a mother,
Who are you to tell me to abort it,
Say it once and I'll seize tongue out of your mouth,
I'll bring her in this world,
And teach her all the skills that she needs to be protected from this bitch world,
And even if I have a son,
He'll not be like yours,
He'll first learn to respect a girl, a women,
I might not teach him that boys dont cry,
But I'll teach him boys dont make girls cry,
Son or daughter, I'll fight for my kids,
And this is my choice.

I'm a human, A woman,
Who can be a daughter, a mother,
A wife, a sister,
I can give you as long as you can take,
But remember, I can be your worst nightmare,
Dont underestimate me, my power,
Dont get illusioned by love I shower,
Coz I'm Kali and Durga,
Remember my anger,
That can fall upon you if you try to use me as a tissue paper,
Give respect, take respect,
If you respect my choice, I'll respect yours,
I'm me, and I'll never change for you,
And this is my choice..
